AN INTRODUCTION TO STUDIES IN POPULAR FICTION

I did the illustration and cover design for a collection of essays on popular fiction, What Makes It Pop, edited by Srinjoyee Dutta and Ritwick Bhattacharjee, and published by Worldview Publications.

The idea was to use the washed-out, vintage comic style to truly portray the spirit of popular fiction that is mass-consumed, depicting one of the most famous literary characters of all time - Sherlock, as he screams into the distant, high-brow canon as a brazen challenge, promising the dismantling of the very definition of 'Literature'.
